19-year-old woman injured in Hampton apartment complex shooting, police investigating

HAMPTON, Va. - The Hampton Police Division is investigating after a woman was shot in the 2100 block of Kecoughtan Road Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, dispatch received a call for shots fired on Kecoughtan Road around 3 p.m. While officers were investigating, dispatch received another call about a walk-in shooting victim at a local hospital.

Officers responded to the hospital and found that a 19-year-old female victim had been struck by gunfire. She was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the victim was standing outside in an apartment complex when a suspect vehicle entered the parking lot and fired at her.

The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation, and there is no suspect information at this time.
