2 horses killed, driver injured in Suffolk crash

SUFFOLK, Va. - Two horses died from their injuries after a Saturday night crash in Suffolk.

According to the Suffolk Police Department, the crash happened at 9:39 p.m. in the 4800 block of Shoulders Hill Road. Police said that two different vehicles struck two horses running loose in the roadway.

The horses died on scene, police said. One driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Suffolk Animal Control also responded to the scene, and the investigation remains ongoing at this time.
