SUFFOLK, Va. - Two people are without a home after an early-morning structure fire in the 500 block of Brook Avenue.
According to Suffolk Fire & Rescue, the call for the fire came in at 2:29 a.m. Crews responded to the address, located in the Saratoga neighborhood, by 2:34 a.m.
First arriving crews reported heavy fire coming from the front and back of the home, and the fire was marked under control at 2:53 a.m.
Both residents were out of the home by the time units reached the scene, but one of the residents suffered from smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported, according to firefighters.
The two residents of the home will be staying with a relative.
The fire's cause remains under investigation.
