NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Police Department is investigating a shooting on N. Military Highway that left one man dead and another man injured Saturday afternoon.
Around 12:30 p.m., officers responded to the Residence Inn located at 1590 N. Military Highway, where they found the two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
One man, identified as 31-year-old Danell M. Lightfoot, was pronounced dead on scene, and another man was take to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. On Monday, police said the second victim is expected to recover.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Lightfoot was shot during a disturbance inside the room.
Police are not looking for any suspects in connection with this shooting.
