2 women arrested after body of elderly woman found at Perquimans Co. boat ramp

PERQUIMANS Co., N.C. - The Perquimans County Sheriff's Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations arrested two people in connection with the body of an elderly woman that was found at the boat ramp on Belvidere Road on Monday morning.

Diana Cunningham was found by deputies after dispatch received a call from an anonymous person about an elderly woman seen wandering down the road.

Cunningham was located and found to be deceased.

Two women from Belvidere were charged in connection to the suspicious death. The case is still under further investigation.

Police said 40-year-old Brenda Allen was charged with concealing or failing to report a death and obstruction of justice, and 75-year-old Eavielee Farmer was charged with concealing or failing to report a death.

Both women are being held on a $10,000 cash bond.
