222 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in Virginia over 24 hours as more waves expected

As of Thursday morning there are 222 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed in Virginia.

The Commonwealth now has 1,706 cases and 41 deaths from the virus.

On Tuesday, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases who's become a fixture at White House Coronavirus Task Force briefings said he predicts there will be additional waves of COVID-19 infections throughout the fall.

He added that the country would be more prepared for additional outbreaks because the infrastructure to treat the virus would already be in place.
