PORTSMOUTH, Va. – The Portsmouth Police Department is investigating after a 23-year-old man was shot and killed on Broad Street Saturday night.
According to police, at approximately 11:47 p.m., dispatch received a call about an adult man with a gunshot wound to his upper body near the 300 block of Broad Street. The victim, identified as Vernon Norvell, was taken to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries.
Norvell’s family has been notified of his passing, police said.
