NORFOLK, Va. – Firework shows for the 4th of July have been canceled for 2020 in Norfolk.

The annual Independence Day celebrations that usually take place at Town Point Park on Saturday, July 4 and Ocean View Beach Park on Friday, July 3 are canceled this year.

City officials said the decision was made following Governor Northam’s announcement on May 28 to extend Phase 1 another week which delays the subsequent start of Phases 2 and 3.

Festevents is working closely with City staff to bring events back to Town Point Park and Ocean View Beach Park when it is safe to do so.
