5 people charged in connection to Norfolk shooting that left 20-year-old woman dead

NORFOLK, Va. - Five people have been charged in connection to a homicide after a 20-year-old woman died at the hospital following a shooting Sunday morning.

Police responded to a call regarding a gunshot victim in the 500 block of Mariners Way around 12: 30 a.m.

Officials found 20-year-old Kyilene P. Torain suffering from a gunshot wound. Torain was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where she later died from her injuries, according to officials.

Multiple suspect were arrested in connection to the homicide. 30-year-old Marquis B. Yates was arrested and charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm, police say.

21-year-old Adriana A. Hamlett, 37-year-old Candance D. Montague, and a 17-year-old juvenile are charged with attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. 20-year-old Jadean Williams is charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.
