PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Portsmouth Police are investigating after five people, including a child, were shot Friday night.
Dispatchers received a call for a gunshot wound in the 500 block of Edwards Street around 8:50 p.m.
Authorities told News 3 that when officers arrived on scene and began investigating, two victims - a man and a woman - walked into Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center. They were both suffering from gunshot wounds.
During this time, two men and a boy under the age of 10 walked into Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. They also had gunshot wounds.
Police say all five victims were seriously injured and are in stable condition.
There is no further information at this time.
