57-year-old man killed in Norfolk vehicle-pedestrian crash

NORFOLK, Va. – A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on Sewells Point Road in Norfolk Friday night.

At around 8:15 p.m. Friday, police were called to the 3600 block of Sewells Point Road for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they found the pedestrian, identified as 57-year-old Antonio Fort, suffering from serious injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Investigators say speed and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors. The investigation is still in progress.
