Teen killed in Portsmouth shooting; Police search for multiple suspects

PORTSMOUTH, Va. - A teenager was shot in the area of Cherokee Road and Chowan Drive Monday night.

The call came in around 8:30 p.m., and officers responded to the 200 block of Chowan Drive for a gunshot wound incident.

Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old male with a life-threatening injury. Medics responded to the scene and took the victim to a local hospital for treatment.

Police said his injury was fatal and the victim’s family has been notified of his passing.

Detectives have obtained surveillance video of several suspects and what appears to be a black 4-door vehicle.

Depicted in the videos are multiple suspects walking down Chowan Drive, shooting at the 15-year-old victim, and returning to their vehicle.
