Chesapeake woman's boyfriend charged in fatal shooting that also injured woman's daughter

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - A Chesapeake woman's boyfriend has been arrested and charged with second degree murder after a fatal shooting early Saturday morning.

According to police, at 12:43 a.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Lafayette Avenue for reports of a shooting victim. When officers arrived, they heard shots fired inside the residence.

Police say 37-year-old Iaisha James was shot and killed in her home. Her boyfriend, 39-year-old Antonio Lee Sutton was arrested the night of the incident.

Police say he was charged with 2nd degree murder, malicious wounding, and 2 counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

According to officials, the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute involving both people.

Police say the woman's adult daughter was also injured in the shooting and was taken to the hospital, where she is still recovering in the hospital.

The incident is still under investigation.
