DARE COUNTY, N.C. - Dare County has partnered with Mako Medical Laboratories out of Raleigh, NC to host a second drive-thru COVID-19 testing event.
The testing event will take place on June 2 starting at 10 a.m., at Soundside Event Site located at 6800 S. Croatan Hwy.
Appointments are required to get tested and the event is set to provide 500 tests.
Dare County Department of Health & Human Services will call individuals with test results within 72 hours.
The event is open to permanent residents of Dare County, ages 10-years-old and older.
The event is not free, however those with insurance will not have to pay any out of pocket fees.
All insurances cover the COVID-19 diagnostic test, including Medicaid and Medicare.
Those wanting to get tested must bring a photocopy of their ID and insurance card.
Mako Medical Laboratories says they will work with anyone who is uninsured to assist with the cost of testing.
