Elizabeth City private school closes for remainder of December, cancels all exams

PASQUOTANK COUNTY, N.C. - An Elizabeth City private school has announced the closure of the school for the remainder of the year due to COVID-19.

Albemarle school informed families Monday that they have had positive COVID-19 cases at the school and instances of students or staff having to quarantine. Due to recent cases, the school says they have adjusted the remainder of the December school calendar.

Beginning Monday after school, the school will close immediately and exams will not be taken as scheduled.

Students will have the opportunity until Friday to turn in all missing assignments. The first semester grade will be calculated by averaging the first two nine weeks.

The school says staff will be available to any questions regarding missing assignments until noon on Friday.
