North Carolina COVID-19 cases rise more than double statewide since Monday; 2 deaths reported locally

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Tuesday, there are now 146,779 cases, 1,026 people hospitalized and 2,396 COVID-19 related deaths.

That is 1,263 new cases, 46 additional hospitalizations and 48 additional deaths from Monday.

The COVID-19 case increase was over double from Monday's when there was 564 new cases.

A total of 1,951,120 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.
