North Carolina COVID-19 death toll passes 3K; Cases continue to rise with 1,532 reported in 24 hours

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Friday, there are now 182,286 cases, 938 people hospitalized and 3,023 COVID-19 related deaths.

That is 1,532 new cases, 10 additional hospitalizations and 33 more deaths from Thursday.

Our local viewing area saw 42 new cases and no deaths from Thursday. Hertford County reported the highest case increase with 15 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths.

A total of 2,558,654 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.
