North Carolina daily COVID-19 cases rise by 1,979; Pasquotank Co. sees 2 deaths in a day

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving coronavirus cases within the state.

As of Thursday, there are now 131,267 cases, 1,147 people hospitalized and 2,092 coronavirus related deaths.

That is 1,979 new cases, 42 additional deaths and -20 hospitalizations from Wednesday.

A total of 1,904,750 total coronavirus tests have been completed in North Carolina.

Here's the breakdown of confirmed cases in local areas:

  • Bertie County 263 cases, 5 deaths (+9 cases from Wednesday)
  • Camden County 65 cases, 2 deaths (+1 cases from Wednesday)
  • Chowan County 148 cases, 1 deaths (+3 cases from Wednesday)
  • Currituck County 71 cases, 0 deaths (+0 cases from Wednesday)
  • Dare County 205 cases, 2 deaths (+2 cases from Wednesday)
  • Gates County 45 cases, 2 deaths (-1 cases from Wednesday)
  • Hertford County 313 cases, 11 deaths (+3 cases from Wednesday)
  • Northampton County 284 cases, 16 deaths (+2 cases from Wednesday)
  • Pasquotank County 371 cases, 19 deaths (+11 cases, +2 deaths from Wednesday)
  • Perquimans County 76 cases, 2 deaths (+2 cases from Wednesday)
