North Carolina continues rise in COVID-19 cases with 1,222 reported in 24 hours; Currituck County sees highest local case increase

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Thursday, there are now 180,754 cases, 928 people hospitalized and 2,990 COVID-19 related deaths.

That is 1,222 new cases, 12 additional hospitalizations and 32 more deaths from Wednesday.

Our local viewing area saw 35 new cases and no deaths from Wednesday. Currituck County reported the highest case increase with 8 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths.

A total of 2,521,839 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.
