N.C. Gov. Cooper holds COVID-19 briefing on budget proposal as cases rise by 1,244 in a day

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Wednesday, there are now 158,985 cases, 1,004 people hospitalized and 2,606 COVID-19 related deaths.

That is 1,244 new cases, 4 additional hospitalizations and 36 additional deaths from Tuesday.

A total of 2,121,001 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.

In our local areas there were a total of 26 new COVID-19 cases and 4 additional deaths. Chowan County reported the highest case increase with 6 new cases.
