North Carolina reports 1,454 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours; Local areas report 36 new cases, 2 deaths

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Saturday, there are now 183,740 cases, 870 people hospitalized and 3,047 COVID-19 related deaths.

That is 1,454 new cases, 68 fewer hospitalizations and 24 more deaths from Friday.

Our local viewing area saw 36 new cases and 2 deaths from Friday. Hertford County reported the highest case increase with 8 new COVID-19 cases and 1 new death.

A total of 2,581,132 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.
