North Carolina reports 1,495 new COVID-19 cases, 40 additional deaths; Bertie Co. reports highest local case increase

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Wednesday, there are now 241,792 cases, 1,219 people hospitalized and 4,032 COVID-19 related deaths.

That is 1,495 new cases, 16 additional hospitalizations and 40 additional deaths from Monday.

29 new cases were reported in local areas, with Bertie County reporting the highest local case increase at 8. Three new deaths were reported locally for Tuesday.

A total of 3,663,340 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.
