North Carolina reports 3,834 new COVID-19 cases; Hospitalizations fall slightly after reaching record high

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Friday there are now 334,190 PCR positive cases and 20,324 antigen positive cases, totaling 354,514 total positive cases.

1,780 people are being hospitalized for COVID-19 and there have been 5,210 COVID-19 related deaths.

North Carolina reported Thursday and Friday's COVID-19 numbers at the same time. That is 8,008 new total cases and 72 additional deaths from Wednesday, with Thursday reporting 4,174 new cases and Friday reporting 3,834 new cases. Deaths were not separated by day.

A total of 5,172,498 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.
