North Carolina reports 5,609 new COVID-19 cases, 69 deaths as hospitalizations continue to rise

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Wednesday, there are now 455,469 PCR positive cases and 39,042 antigen positive cases, 3,043 people hospitalized and 6,360 COVID-19 related deaths.

That is 5,609 new total cases and 69 additional deaths from Tuesday.

93 cases were reported locally, with Gates County seeing the highest local case increase at 15 cases. One death was reported locally in Camden County.

A total of 6,508,956 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.
