North Carolina reports 6,900 new COVID-19 cases; Hertford County sees highest local case increase

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Sunday, there are now 442,682 PCR positive cases and 36,486 antigen positive cases, 2,748 people hospitalized and 6,224 COVID-19 related deaths.

That is 6,900 new total cases and 40 additional deaths from Saturday.

86 cases were reported locally, with Hertford County seeing the highest local case increase at 18 cases. Perquimans County was the only local area to report a death Sunday.

A total of 6,372,829 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.
