North Carolina reports 897 new COVID-19 cases; Hertford Co. sees increase of 15 cases, 5 deaths from Tuesday

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Wednesday, there are now 179,532 cases, 916 people hospitalized and 2,958 COVID-19 related deaths.

That is 897 new cases, 89 additional hospitalizations and 49 more deaths from Tuesday.

Our local viewing area saw 27 new cases and 6 deaths from Tuesday. Hertford County reported the highest case increase with 15 new COVID-19 cases and 5 new deaths.

A total of 2,490,113 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.
