North Carolina reports daily rise of 1,196 COVID-19 cases; hospitalizations in state continue to fall

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Sunday, there are now 184,936 cases, 831 people hospitalized and 3,052 COVID-19 related deaths.

That is 1,196 new cases, 39 fewer hospitalizations and 5 more deaths from Saturday.

Our local viewing area saw 22 new cases and no deaths from Saturday. Pasquotank County reported the highest case increase with 5 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths.

A total of 2,616,108 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.
