North Carolina reports more than 3K new COVID-19 cases; Local areas report 47 cases, 1 death

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Saturday, there are now 735,879 PCR positive cases and 104,217 antigen positive cases, 1,708 people hospitalized and 10,896 COVID-19 related deaths.

That is 3,446 new total cases and 76 additional deaths from Friday.

A total of 9,881,060 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.

According to the NCDHHS, Saturday's case count includes 685 cases from tests performed at the UNC Health Southeastern COVID-19 Testing site at UNC Health Southeastern Hospital since Dec. 30, 2020 that had not been previously reported to NCDHHS.

The delay in reporting to the NCDHHS did not impact patient notifications or care from UNC Health Southeastern.
