North Carolina reports over 5K new COVID-19 cases, 51 additional deaths as hospitalizations reach a record high

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Tuesday, there are now 451,384 PCR positive cases and 37,518 antigen positive cases, 3,001 people hospitalized and 6,291 COVID-19 related deaths.

That is 5,255 new total cases and 51 additional deaths from Monday.

88 cases were reported locally, with Dare County seeing the highest local case increase at 20 cases. One death was reported locally in Currituck County.

A total of 6,465,155 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.
