North Carolina reports record-high hospitalizations as Dare Co. sees highest local daily coronavirus case increase

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving coronavirus cases within the state.

As of Tuesday, there are now 116,087 cases, 1,244 people hospitalized and 1,820 coronavirus related deaths.

That is 1,749 new cases, 30 additional deaths, and 75 hospitalizations from Monday.

A total of 1,658,973 total coronavirus tests have been completed in North Carolina.

Here's the breakdown of confirmed cases in local areas:

  • Bertie County 219 cases, 4 deaths (+4 cases from Monday)
  • Camden County 53 cases, 2 deaths (+1 case from Monday)
  • Chowan County 106 cases, 0 deaths (+2 cases from Monday)
  • Currituck County 69 cases, 0 deaths (+3 cases from Monday)
  • Dare County 184 cases, 1 death (+7 cases from Monday)
  • Gates County 37 cases, 2 deaths (+0 cases from Monday)
  • Hertford County 241 cases, 11 deaths (+4 cases from Monday)
  • Northampton County 259 cases, 16 deaths (+2 cases from Monday)
  • Pasquotank County 311 cases, 17 deaths (+6 cases from Monday)
  • Perquimans County 57 cases, 2 deaths (+1 case from Monday)
