North Carolina reports rise of 2,131 COVID-19 cases as state remains paused in Phase Three

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Thursday, there are now 243,923 cases, 1,205 people hospitalized and 4,082 COVID-19 related deaths.

That is 2,131 new cases, 14 fewer hospitalizations and 50 additional deaths from Wednesday.

A total of 3,718,606 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.

North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper announced Wednesday that the state would remain paused in Phase Three for three more weeks due to an increase of reported COVID-19 cases.

Health officials have reinforced the need for all North Carolinians to practice the 3 W’s: Wear a Mask, Wait 6 Feet Apart, and Wash Your Hands.
