North Carolina reports spike of 1,972 COVID-19 cases from Wednesday; Bertie County reports highest local case increase

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Thursday, there are now 149,904 cases, 1,023 people hospitalized and 2,465 COVID-19 related deaths. Our viewing area saw 37 new cases and no new deaths.

That is 1,972 new cases, 22 more hospitalizations and 34 additional deaths from Wednesday.

A total of 2,003,307 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.
