North Carolina reports spike of over 2,000 new COVID-19 cases in a day; Local areas see 52 new cases, no deaths

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Thursday, there are now 161,076 cases, 958 people hospitalized and 2,630 COVID-19 related deaths.

That is 2,091 new cases, 46 fewer hospitalizations and 24 additional deaths from Wednesday.

A total of 2,152,725 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.

In our local areas there were a total of 52 new COVID-19 cases and 0 additional deaths. Bertie County reported the highest case increase with 13 new cases.
