North Carolina sees 2,626 new COVID-19 cases; Local areas report 26 new cases, 2 deaths

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Thursday, there are now 258,319 cases, 1,181 people hospitalized and 4,283 COVID-19 related deaths.

That is 2,626 new cases, 12 fewer hospitalizations and 38 additional deaths from Wednesday.

Local areas reported 26 new cases and 2 new deaths, with Pasquotank County reporting the area's highest case increase of 8 new cases.

A total of 3,950,641 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.
