North Carolina's hospitalizations continue to increase as state reports 5,285 new COVID-19 cases in a day

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released their daily update involving COVID-19 cases within the state.

As of Tuesday, there are now 525,813 PCR positive cases and 49,583 antigen positive cases, 3,781 people hospitalized and 6,996 COVID-19 related deaths.

That is 5,285 new total cases and 55 additional deaths from Monday.

Local areas reported 102 cases and two deaths, with Dare County seeing the area's largest increase with 21 new cases.

A total of 7,150,588 total COVID-19 tests have been completed in North Carolina.
