The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving COVID-19 cases within the state.
According to their website, there are now 288,309 total cases, 249,040 of which are confirmed and 39,269 are probable. There are 4,470 total COVID-19 related deaths, with 4,058 being confirmed and 412 being probable. The case numbers are up by 3,160, and deaths are up by 56 since Monday.
A total of 3,754,756 COVID-19 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia.
The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Tuesday, there are 1,979 people currently being hospitalized, confirmed with COVID-19. There are 382 people receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are still pending. Combined, there are a total of 2,361 being hospitalized for coronavirus related illness. That's 101 more hospitalizations from Monday.
The total statewide COVID-19 hospitalizations that have been reported over time is now 16,187.
490 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.
240 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 927 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 2,913 in the state - that's 32% usage.
26,929 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.
Portsmouth saw a jump in percent of positive COVID-19 tests at +1.2% from Monday. It was 11.7% Monday and 12.9% Tuesday.
