The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving COVID-19 cases within the state.
According to their website, there are now 199,262 total cases, 181,476 of which are confirmed and 17,786 are probable. There are 3,785 total COVID-19 related deaths, with 3,513 being confirmed and 272 being probable. The case numbers are up by 1,235, and deaths are up by 27 since Thursday.
A total of 2,864,009 COVID-19 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia.
The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Friday, there are 978 people currently being hospitalized, confirmed with COVID-19. There are 318 people receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are still pending. Combined, there are a total of 1,296 being hospitalized for coronavirus related illness. That's -17 hospitalizations from Thursday.
The total statewide COVID-19 hospitalizations that have been reported over time is now 13,408.
115 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 827 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 2,936 in the state - that's 28% usage.
22,095 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged in Virginia.
Hampton Roads and surrounding area cases since Thursday made up about 11% of Virginia's statewide daily case increase.
Four local health districts saw a rise in the amount of test positivity percentage. Those districts were, Eastern Shore, Hampton, Newport News and Virginia Beach.
