The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving COVID-19 cases within the state.
According to their website, there are now 340,297 total cases, 287,216 of which are confirmed and 53,081 are probable. There are 4,920 total COVID-19 related deaths, with 4,340 being confirmed and 580 being probable. The case numbers are up by 4,122, and deaths are up by 59 since Monday.
A total of 4,191,183 COVID-19 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia.
The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Tuesday, there are 2,369 people currently being hospitalized, confirmed with COVID-19. There are 329 people receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are still pending. Combined, there are a total of 2,698 being hospitalized for coronavirus related illness. That's 135 more hospitalizations from Monday.
The total statewide COVID-19 hospitalizations that have been reported over time is now 17,782.
539 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.
326 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 969 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 3,001 in the state - that's 32% usage.
30,133 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.
Virginia's statewide percent of positive cases remains over 12% at 12.20% and has been over 12% for four days.
