Virginia sees no coronavirus-related deaths since Sunday, Virginia Beach sees highest local one-day jump in cases

The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving coronavirus cases within the state.

According to their website, there are now 66,102 total cases, 63,339 of which are confirmed and 2,763 are probable. There are 1,853 total coronavirus related deaths, with 1,747 being confirmed and 106 probable. The case numbers are up by 354, and deaths are up by 0 since Sunday.

A total of 712,350 PCR testing encounters have now happened in Virginia.

The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Monday there are 565 people currently being hospitalized for coronavirus. There are 218 people currently receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are pending. 194 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.

86 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 633 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 2,999 in the state - that's 21% usage.

8,809 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.

  • Chesapeake 1,026 cases, 147 hospitalized, 21 deaths (+11 cases from Sunday)
  • Accomack 1,044 cases, 72 hospitalized, 14 deaths (+0 cases from Sunday)
  • Northampton 272 cases, 41 hospitalized, 28 deaths (+1 cases from Sunday)
  • Hampton 376 cases, 41 hospitalized, 5 deaths (+7 cases from Sunday)
  • Norfolk 1,105 cases, 115 hospitalized, 12 deaths (+33 cases from Sunday)
  • James City County 297 cases, 58 hospitalized, 15 deaths (+4 cases from Sunday)
  • Newport News 592 cases, 45 hospitalized, 10 deaths (+8 cases from Sunday)
  • Poquoson 19 cases, 2 hospitalized, 0 deaths (+0 cases from Sunday)
  • Williamsburg 74 cases, 12 hospitalized, 6 deaths (+2 cases from Sunday)
  • York County 131 cases, 10 hospitalized, 3 deaths (+2 cases from Sunday)
  • Portsmouth 549 cases, 73 hospitalized, 18 deaths (+0 cases from Sunday)
  • Gloucester 50 cases, 9 hospitalized, 1 deaths (+0 cases from Sunday)
