HAMPTON, Va. — A man died following a shooting in Hampton Thursday afternoon.
Police said the call came in around 5:45 p.m. in the 2700 block of Jamestown Avenue. When authorities arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at the scene. After investigating, police learned that the incident occurred in the 600 block of Celey Street.
Police have since identified the victim as 52-year-old Charles Edward McEachin.
A little while later, police got a call about a man walking into the Sentara Careplex with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Police said both men were involved in the incident on Jamestown Avenue.
