RICHMOND, Va. - Dominion Energy customers in Virginia will see a nearly $6 decrease in their monthly residential electric bills under a proposed fuel rate adjustment, according to a release by Dominion Energy.

According to the company, the fuel rate reduction is being driven in part by cycle power stations and the company's portfolio of renewable energy.

Large industrial customers in the state will see an overall rate reduction of around 10 percent under the proposal.

The new rate will take effect May 1 if approved by the State Corporation Commission (SCC). No change can occur in company rates without approval from the SCC, Dominion Energy said.
