Elizabeth City Police investigating after man shot in chest

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. - Police are investigating after a man was shot in the chest in Elizabeth City Friday morning.

According to police, at about 5:07 a.m., officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 400 block of West Cypress Street. When they arrived, they found 41-year-old Marcel Duran Bowe suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his chest.

Bowe was taken to Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
