ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. - The Elizabeth City Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that led to a crash in Pasquotank County.

According to police, the Hertford Police Department responded to King Street Friday night to investigate a reported shooting. Officers attempted to stop a sedan in connection with the shooting, but the vehicle failed to stop and entered Pasquotank County.

The driver, a juvenile, lost control of the vehicle and struck a house on North Road Street. A male subject fled from the backseat of the vehicle, while its other three occupants were trapped inside.
