Family of 3 displaced after Chesapeake house fire

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - A family of three was displaced from their home early Saturday morning after a fire in the Bowers Hill section of Chesapeake.

According to the Chesapeake Fire Department, the call for the fire came in at 5:58 a.m. When fire crews arrived to the 4500 block of Peach Road, they found smoke coming from the rear of a two-story residence.

Firefighters located an exterior fire in the rear of the house, and hoselines were deployed to extinguish the fire.

The structure only sustained minor fire damage, but the home's electrical panel needs to be repaired.

No injuries were reported. The fire's cause remains under investigation.
