Family of 6 displaced after early morning Chesapeake house fire

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Six people are without a home after a house fire in the Deep Creek section of Chesapeake early Sunday morning.

According to the Chesapeake Fire Department, crews were dispatched to the 600 block of Annaka Loop at 2:17 a.m. for the fire. First arriving crews found smoke and flames coming from the rear of the home.

The family was alerted to the fire by smoke detectors and evacuated before crews arrived, firefighters said.

The fire was marked under control at 2:49 a.m., and no injuries were reported.

In total, four adults and two children were displaced. The Red Cross is assisting the family.

The fire's cause remains under investigation.
