HAMPTON, Va. - The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Chesapeake Field Office, is investigating an interstate shooting that took place late Monday evening.
Police say the shooting took place on I-664 southbound, in the vicinity of Aberdeen Road, around 11:55 p.m.
According to the investigation, the driver of a red sedan, possibly a Honda, fired at a blue Kia sedan, while traveling southbound on Interstate 664.
One female was shot and was treated and released from Riverside Regional Medical Center, police say.
State Police say this is still an active and ongoing investigation.
Police is reaching out to the community for any witnesses driving in the area, prior to, or after the incident, who may have possible information.
