NORFOLK, Va. – Detectives are investigating after they say several fliers affiliated with a North Carolina-based hate group were found in a Norfolk neighborhood.
On the morning of Sunday, July 12, police responded to a report of a suspicious flier found at a home in the 3400 block of Pleasant Avenue in the East Beach area of the city. When officers arrived, the resident told them the flier was discovered in their driveway.
During the investigation, officers learned that the same printed flier was distributed to other homes on the same street. Authorities say the fliers detectives collected were found in a plastic bag with birdseed and appear to be affiliated with the Loyal White Knights, a hate group based out of Pelham, North Carolina.
Detectives believe these fliers could be related to a similar incident that happened on the Eastern Shore in June.
