Four displaced, dog dies after Norfolk house fire

NORFOLK, Va. - Crews responded to a house fire Tuesday night.

Officials received reports of the fire around 11:13 p.m., from the 400 block of Pendleton Street.

The fire was said to have extended from the second floor of the home into the attic. Firefighters said it was under control at 11:40 p.m.

One patient was taken to a local hospital by ambulance and was evaluated for smoke inhalation. Two dogs were removed from the home but one died during rescue efforts.

A total of four people are displaced due to this fire.
