SUFFOLK, Va. - The holiday season will look a lot different this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, but Suffolk Parks & Recreation is giving you a way to celebrate safely.
For three Saturdays this December, drive through Suffolk's recreation center parking lots while you and your family are dressed in your favorite pajamas! As you cruise through, parks & rec. staff will safely welcome you with social distancing and will provide a variety of holiday goodies in a free holiday goodie bag while supplies last.
There will be three chances to participate in the drive-thru in December:
- Saturday, December 5 - Northern Shores Recreation Center, 6701 Respass Beach Road rescheduled to Saturday, December 19
- Saturday, December 12 - East Suffolk Recreation Center, 138 South 6th Street
- Saturday, December 19 - Whaleyville Recreation Center, 132 Robertson Street
All three drive-thru days will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
If you attend, you are asked to stay in your vehicle. You should not attend this event if you or anyone in your household is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath), or have been exposed to others who have experienced those symptoms within the last 14 days.
