SUFFOLK, Va. – Suffolk's favorite legumes are celebrating the end of the school year!

Just a few weeks after Mr. Peanut and Baby Nut reminded residents to maintain social distancing, the giant inflatable nuts are situated on the Constance Road side of the Suffolk Visitor Center in Downtown Suffolk to commemorate the end of the 2019-20 school year. They will be on display, beginning Thursday, June 4 through Saturday, June 6, and their appearance is weather dependent.

The famous duo will recognize and congratulate all teachers, students, families and graduates who have recently completed the year made very unique due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Hoping to bring smiles to the faces of passing drivers and pedestrians, Suffolk’s nutty celebrities are a fun way to celebrate our community.

The Suffolk Visitor Center and Tourism Office is located at 524 North Main Street. The building remains closed to the public during the COVID-19 health crisis.
